NASCAR, baby!

May 20, 2010

How in the world have I forgotten to share these!?!?  Last Christmas, I gave my husband the opportunity of a lifetime….to drive a NASCAR Sprint car!  He finally scheduled his session and we got to go watch him race with 9 other cars a few weeks ago.  I love it when people get to accomplish something on their “bucket list” and I know this was one of those things for Jason.

Here’s Jason all strapped in the M&M #38 car:

This little series of images below crack me up…Jason just got finished with racing and his face says it all!  Oh and doesn’t the guy next to him totally look “NASCAR”?  Too bad Jason wasn’t sportin’ a ’stache!

In our element…

May 18, 2010

and I’m so very thankful for it!  This is the time of the year where I become hyper-aware of everything going on outside around me.  The way the heat hits me when I walk out the door, the way jasmine’s scent seems to linger in the air, the sound of the cardinals greeting me to a new day…it all just comes back to me in an instant for why I love the upcoming arrival of summer.

It’s been a while since I just took pictures of my son just for the heck of it.  Yesterday’s impending thunderstorm that never happened created a beautiful soft-box effect…I love how God works!  And this morning’s sunshine?  Sublime.  I love how in the last image you can see the rays of the sun.  Again….just awesome.

Hope you are enjoying the last few moments of spring!

This picture below reminds me that he is no longer a baby.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day…whether you were a mom being celebrated or celebrating your own mom!  I spent a majority of the day digging in the backyard doing our annual backyard clean-up…it was a good day!

Speaking of a good day, I had such a blast with Jordan who happens to be my newest Senior Spokes Model at Allen HS.  Jordan is such a confident girl and I love that, especially in teens!  The locations, the outfits, Jordan…they all just went perfectly together to create the most magical senior session.

Oh and yeah, she’s one heck of a dancer too!  I feel so blessed to capture these girls doing what they love…dancing.  Once upon a time, I was on drill team too but I certainly don’t remember having this kind of talent!

Enjoy!

What a crazy busy weekend it was! Dinner with friends, Derby Days at the local horse track and an entire day spent sprucing up our front yard. I’m not one of those that has a “case of the Mondays” (name that movie) but I wouldn’t mind just ONE more day spent lounging around the house in my pj’s doing NOTHING. Seriously. Who do I contact to petition for a 3 day weekend?

Even though everything went by in a blur this weekend, all I have to do is stop and take a look at Isabelle. She exuded a sense of calm and peace about her…super chill and relaxed. That, combined with her beauty, makes for a GREAT senior session!
