I’m going to warn you, this post will be all over the place! I just had some random tidbits to share that I’ve wanted to share before but never felt that each was entitled to its own post, so I’m lumping them all together!

Like this picture…it’s awesome and it’s straight out of my camera – no editing except to resize it for the web and plop my watermark on it. But I really can’t take credit for this picture. I would have NEVER even bothered to look up in the hotel courtyard in Arizona at night but my husband has a keen eye. He looked up and said “That would make an awesome picture” and so I whipped out my camera and took it. The sky was really that color that night and the palms look out of this world lit up against that blue sky.

I’m on a “Get Healthy” campaign that started as of Monday morning. My biggest hurdle will be to get more active since I really eat pretty well as it is. I’ll share a bit here and there but my goal is to lose 10 pounds in 6 weeks. And to prove that you can eat like a king when you are supposed to be getting healthy, here is a pic of one of our dinners this week: Farfalle with Lamb Ragu, Ricotta and Mint with Baby Greens Salad(from Cooking Light). All for a measley 464 calories and less than 17g of fat! YUM!

Last Saturday was both the neighborhood Egg Hunt and opening day for baseball! The egg hunt was HILARIOUS and we barely made it. The unorganized yahoos proceed to tell the kids to “GO!” into the field to line-up. Well the announcer was a little robust about the way he said “GO” and a gazillion 3-6 year olds went running to go get the eggs. The announcer was screaming stop but it was too late. Silly announcer. This was the after picture since the kids literally mowed through the eggs before anyone was able to get pictures of their kids scrambling for eggs.
And baseball was AWESOME! Lawyer got to play “pitcher” for the first inning (which he just LOVES) and every single batter hit the ball to him. And he even had one play where he caught the ball and threw it to first base and the first baseman actually caught it! Nothing like a bunch of t-ball parents screaming like the kids just won the World Series!

This is one of my fave (and only) pics I took of my husband and son at the Egg Hunt. Gotta love some backlighting!

Oh, oh, OH! I can NOT forget about my little garden that I just finished planting yesterday afternoon! I did something different with the 14 square feet of space I have in this little area…I followed plans for a Square Foot Garden. It’s such an amazing concept! You plot out one foot squares and then just follow the guidelines for how many of each plant you can put in a single square foot. Right now, I have lettuce, a tomato plant, okra, jalapenos, bush beans, eggplant, radishes, beets, spinach and green onions. All but the tomato and eggplant are from seeds…I guess I felt a little ambitious this year. Oh and I can’t forget the little strawberry pot too! The only thing left is my herb container garden but hopefully I can get that done this week. Anyhow, it’s nothing to look at right now but I’m hoping to eat some radishes and spinach here in 4 weeks!
